Learning Technologies Company Of The Year – UK
In three years since Epic and LINE merged, the resulting company, LEO Learning, has undergone an extraordinary journey. The result has proven extremely successful, firstly from the perspective of customers, who have testified to exceptional satisfaction and regularly give LEO Learning Learning tier 1 status. Secondly, from a business perspective, LEO Learning has doubled in size (organically) into the largest UK learning technologies company.
Learning Designer Of The Year – Imogen Casebourne
For 20 years, Imogen Casebourne has been a pathfinder, adopting new approaches and technologies to create large, complex, innovative and award-winning learning, from highly interactive elearning, simulations, games and blends to the design of entire curriculums. From PDAs to apps, through research and the co-design of an authoring tool, she has also been a trailblazer in mobile learning. She is currently studying part-time for a doctorate on mobile learning at Oxford University and regularly brings her insights to conferences as well as thought leadership content on leolearning.com.
Best Learning Game – Virgin Airways and LEO Learning
The acid test of systems training is not when the launch goes to plan, but when it doesn’t.
When a mission-critical system changeover by Virgin Atlantic experienced challenges, handling those challenges poorly could have harmed the airline’s reputation as well as its customer’s experience. Through exceptional use of learning technologies, in particular an addictive pair of games, Virgin Airways’ Customer Centre and Airport Operation people were well trained and able to respond professionally. The end result was that, as far as customers were concerned, it was business-as-usual during the changeover.

This is the story of how a single consortium-led project developed a new blended learning model, with a digital core, that underpinned the consultative design and delivery of 138 fully-blended bespoke topics in less than a year.
